About Us

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCCArts), a community-based, non-profit performing arts center, presents a wide range of cultural programming by professional touring companies of regional, national and international stature. Providing affordable entertainment and educational programming to the college and the community, RVCCArts strives to be a meeting place of diverse ideas and art—a cultural centerpiece—providing a central location where college and community, teacher and learner can come together and share the transforming experience of live performance.

Each season, the theatre the presents the Mainstage, the Youth & Family series, a series of programs for children and their entire families and School-Time Performances, a series of educational field trip events for preK through grade 12. In addition, the theatre offers two mid-week series, Tuesdays With Stories and Club28. These events are designed for a smaller audience, in an intimate setting, and each includes post-show discussion with the artists.

In early 1985, the Edward Nash Theatre opened with a diverse, week-long festival of events to celebrate the theatre's completion and to highlight its promise of presenting a variety of quality events in years to come. Offerings in the 29 seasons since have been no less varied or spectacular. Audiences have been treated to performers and performances like David Sedaris, Harlem Boys Choir, American Repertory Ballet, Moscow Ballet’s The Great Russian Nutcracker, Judy Collins, The Peking Acrobats, Sally Struthers, The Gatlin Brothers, comedians Paula Poundstone and Colin Quinn and The Paul Taylor Dance Company among many others. The theatre is named for the late Edward Nash, who was a founding RVCC Trustee, President of the College Foundation and principal fundraiser for the theatre/library building project.
