Tall Tales & Troubadours
The Mike Aiken Band (video)
Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7PM
Tickets: $20
Well-traveled Virginia songwriter and sea captain, Mike Aiken, may have been born in the wrong century.  An inner sense of chivalry oozes from every story he tells and every song he sings. Aiken has drawn tales - and hope - from “trail riders, aging rodeo champs, sea captains, Rastafarians and outlaws” to craft a treasure chest of tunes that draws the threads of these independent spirits together. Always having fun on stage, you can expect to hear upbeat, rootsy grooves, from slide guitar to honky-tonk piano, percussion and sweet harmony vocals that take you to the heart of a summer jump-up.

Aiken’s love for singing, songwriting and sailing has taken him all over the world. As a songwriter he puts pen to paper and shares his colored and colorful life. As an artist who comes by his stories and Grammy nomination honestly, Aiken has definitely taken his place among well-respected songwriters and musicians in the Americana and Country communities. Wayward Troubadour, Aiken’s seventh album definitely proves that point.

On stage with Mike Aiken will be his trusted band of wayward troubadours.

The audience whooped and hollered and stomped their feet! Ross Ragland Theater

We have our open mic winners!
We had a great time at Harper's Table on Sept. 4 and at the Dragonfly Music & Coffee Cafe Sept. 8, with a full slate of talented people at each. Many thanks to our hosts, our judges, sound techs, and, of course, the great singer songwriters who came out to offer up their incredible talents. In the end, we are thrilled to announce that Kim Parent and Carolyn Messina are our winners and will be joining us to open for the Mike Aiken Band, at this event. Congratulations Kim and Carolyn!
