MIKE AIKEN As a wayward troubadour, Mike ran away as a kid to play music, he became a licensed USCG Captain, he has sailed over 30,000 bluewater miles on his own sailboat and logged countless miles on the road performing in North American and Europe. Aiken’s love for singing, songwriting and sailing has taken him all over the world. As a songwriter he puts pen to paper and shares his colored and colorful life. As an artist who comes by his stories honestly, Aiken has definitely taken his place among well-respected songwriters and musicians in the Americana and country communities. Mike’s seventh studio album, WAYWARD TROUBADOUR, is a conceptualized project and the anticipated follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Captains & Cowboys (produced by Dan Baird, Georgia Satellites). As the first track’s title indicates, ‘Everything Changed’ with this eleven song album. (video)
LEA was born in Baltimore to a father who toured the world playing trumpet in the funk band Black Heat and a mother who dreamed of opera while performing with her siblings in the Jones Family Gospel Singers. LEA was singing on the pulpit of the Baptist church where she grew up as soon she could speak. When she discovered the acoustic guitar as a teenager, she began teaching herself to play by writing songs. LEA’s final year in high school was in Germany at a classical conservatory, where she sang with the jazz ensemble Black & White and co-wrote with the British pop trio Indigo Wild. Having shared the stage with luminaries including Odetta, Mavis Staples, Dar Williams and Anthony Hamilton, LEA performs at a far-ranging array of venues, including arts centers, universities, festivals, and places of worship. TIM BUPPERT Tim made his living as a singing drummer, from the age of 18 until moving to Nashville in 1991, where he put aside the drums to focus on a songwriting career. While performing his songs at the Bluebird Café Tim was asked to sing some demos for hit songwriter Don Schlitz. Fast forward 25 years and Tim has sung on over 8,000 recordings including albums by: Trisha Yearwood, Michael Peterson, Kevin Sharp, Billy Ray Cyrus and Rodney Atkins, to name a few, and on jingles for: Pepsi, Luvs diapers, TNN and many more. In 1997 Tim had his first success as a writer with the #1 hit by Kevin Sharp “She’s Sure Taking It Well.” Tim scored again in 2000 with Yankee Grey and the song “Another 9 minutes” which reached #11 on the Country charts.
